Challenge: Finding a professional workspace that offers full business autonomy without sacrificing the flexibility needed for after-school childcare.
Solution: The Customised Beauty Boutique

The Situation: Re-entering the Workforce

Hana was ready to return to work after her son started school, but she faced a common hurdle: finding a role that allowed her to be present for school pick-ups. With a background and passion for hair and makeup, she decided to specialize in nail art.

After completing a Certificate in Nail Art & Design and a small business management course, Hana was prepared to launch, but she needed a space that felt like a professional destination for clients rather than just a corner of her living room.

  • Professionalism vs. Home Life: She needed a clear boundary between her "work" and "home" environments to maintain a professional atmosphere for her clients.
  • The School Clock: Traditional salon employment didn't offer the specific "9-to-3" flexibility required to manage her son’s new school schedule.
  • The Start-Up Budget: Hana didn’t have to worry about commercial leases and fixed running costs. She uses power from the house and her mobile phone to process payments.

Hana hired a cabin from Cabin King and transformed it into the boutique studio she’d imagined. Today, her books are full, her commute is a walk across the garden, and she never misses a school pick-up.

"I love being my own boss and having a space that feels like a real salon."
